About DCX

Software, Consulting, and AI — built by senior people who care about how things work.

DCX is a boutique South African consultancy. We design and build mobile and web applications, lead complex digital programmes, and help organisations adopt AI in a way that actually creates leverage rather than chaos. The work spans the full lifecycle — from solution architecture and senior business analysis through to engineering, change management, and release. What sets us apart is who's in the room. Most consultancies sell senior thinking and deliver junior execution. We don't. The same people who scope your project are the people who lead it through delivery. That's the whole proposition: experienced practitioners who stay close enough to the work to be accountable for the outcome. We bring the X-factor every time — but the real difference is felt in the unglamorous parts of a project: the documentation that survives a handover, the architecture decisions that don't bite back in year two, the release that ships clean because someone took change control seriously. Co-founder & Managing Director

Chantal has spent more than fifteen years in the motor industry, on both sides of the counter, which makes her one of the few people alive who has seen the car business from every angle except underneath. These days she runs DCX, which mostly means being the person clients phone when something breaks the day-to-day running of their business, and occasionally means telling everyone else at DCX what the day-to-day running of a business actually looks like. She's also a committed animal rights activist, and it's worth knowing that of the two constituencies she serves, the animals get the softer treatment. The rest of us are expected to deliver.

Albert had AI reading documents in production systems back when “AI” was still something vendors whispered rather than printed on brochures, an experience that left him with strong opinions and a methodology. He now spends his days as the person in the room who answers the technical questions, and the person who'll tell you the truth about your own readiness, which turns out to be a rarer service than you'd hope. He's also a marathon runner, a pursuit that's either admirable or a mild form of mental illness, depending on who you ask. He maintains it's the former. His knees have filed a dissenting opinion.
